I'm getting an Xbox 360 at launch, and I'm going to be using my CRT monitor as my "HDTV" display with a VGA cable. Here's what I had planned for sound:

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD-555's with a HeadSave Amp made by Norm, but I was looking for something to give me that fully rich surround sound feeling.

I was going to just use the optical cable to plug it into my Audigy 2 ZS Platinum sound card and from there, the amp plugs into the soundcard bay, and the HD-555's into the amp.

However, I'm looking for something a little bit better for that true 3d surround effect, while still keeping it digital with the optical cable (hoping I won't need a seperate amp).

Can anyone help me out?

I'd get one of the new Creative X-fi cards. They are supposed to produce really accurate surround sound in headphones. If you take one of the higher priced, they have better DACs, so there is really no need for digital output to another DAC.
