is there a minimum lenght required for digital coax cable?

i remember reading somewhere that toslink optical couldn't be shorter then certain length.

was wondering if this is the case with coax as well.

making my first cable tonight!

There isn't a strict minimum, but there was an interesting write-up by Steve Nugent from Empirical Audio about the electical engineering reasons for a minimum 1.5m length for digital coax. Here's the article - http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue14/spdif.htm

I don't know that it makes an audible difference, but at least there's some reasoning behind it.
