I want to upgrade my DAP. Right now I have an FIIO X1. The sound is ok for me but the display is far to small. Are there any decent DAPs other than the Pioneer/Onkyo ones that are under $ 500 new? (Right now my favourite is the XDP-300R.)
My current headphones are a Denon AH-D200 that is by far not closed enough for me for outdoor use (I will get an Audioquest Nightowl Carbon instead) and as in ears a Sennheiser IE8 and a 1More E1010 Quad Driver. (I cannot find my Ultimate Ears triple.fi 10 anymore at the moment!)

Pretty much all daps with 4 inch and larger have HD screen. You can look for Pioneer xdp300, onkyo dpx1a, hiby r6 and ibasso dx150. They are around $500

Indeed, the Pioneer XDP-300R and the Onkyo DP-X1 or DP-X1A are my favourites so far. But I decided to go a little bit cheaper and bought an old Oppo HA-2 and will take the LG G3 of my wife. The sound probably will not be bigger, but I get a still bigger screen on a genuin Android device. (The M3s and the M7 are to small for me with "only" 3 inch displays.)
