Hi. New member here. Sorry if this has been asked a hundred times. I tried to search for it in old posts but couldn't find anything.

My question is: I'm seeing a variety of AKG k240 Monitors (600 ohm version) on eBay and I've noticed some have different cord terminals. Some seem to have silver 1/4" and others have gold 1/8" plugs. Any ideas as to the difference? Have some been re-cabled at some point or are some from a different production period?

Thanks.

Could be some come with the adapter screwed on and some do not?
I would also "guess" the really older ones would come with the 1/4" as standard.

The ones with the silver plug are from the 80's and have paper baffle things, whereas the ones with the adapter are newer and have smaller baffles

Like the two bottom ones:

I haven't a clue how different they sound though.
