Are there any differences between these two headphones apart from the in-line volume control on the cable ?

Has anyone compared the two ?

Would be grateful for your opinions.

Wasn't the '770M this extra-isolation variant for drummers that's quite a bit worse sounding?

I was hoping this was not the case, disappointing ! Thanks for the feedback.

I have set my heart on some 770's. From reading this forum it seems common that the 80's are prefered over the 250's.

In the UK I can only seem to find online resellers who sell the 250's or the M, and not the 80's.

You have exactly one choice for 770/80s in the UK - here. If you're prepared to buy from abroad, thomann.de also carry them (for a bit more money).
