Are there any differences between these two headphones apart from the in-line volume control on the cable ?

Has anyone compared the two ?

I have set my heart on some 770's. From reading this forum it seems common that the 80's are prefered over the 250's.

In the UK I can only seem to find online resellers who sell the 250's or the M, and not the 80's.

You have exactly one choice for 770/80s in the UK - here. If you're prepared to buy from abroad, thomann.de also carry them (for a bit more money).

Isn't the DT770M just a DT770-250 with pleather pads, and a volume control? I might be very wrong though

From what I gather the DT770M is an 80 ohm design.

.. but if it's only the pads that are different, those sould be easily exchangable.

But by all means, get the 770-80 from where kameleon recommended. Looks like a great price
