Hi,

as I said elsewhere,

I've just bought a new PX100 which I reckon must have those new improved CCAW voice coils.

That's because it undoubtedly sounds better than my 2 older pairs, and this even before any burn in.

It really feels like this (reckoned, as far as my pair is concerned, since there's no way I can make sure) technical refinement has brought to the PX100 that last bit of refinement and balance to make it the perfect affordable headphone to me, a real steal!

My early impressions in short -- definitely more linear upper midrange, resulting in a previously unexperienced sense of coherence and refinement. Also the previous hint of darkness seems to have gone away because of this. The upper treble is less softened/withdrawn, somewhat crisper. the midbass is now more even. The low bass is still as punchy and deep as before, just perhaps a bit more balanced. The overall sound feels a little cleaner. :pX100smile:
