I heard that both Sonica and Sonica theatre use the same DAC right? Theatre adds 7.1, does that help headphone in anyway?

Also for sonica you only use the analog out to connect to amp, the digital out is useless right?

For theatre, there are like 4 analog outs, which one do you connect?

Also for those who one Sonica, could you say a little on cpu utilization, like how much % does it use. Since its USB, the number should be more than 10% I guess.

They use different DACs. The Sonica is just 2 channel (AKM4353 DAC) and the other one uses something else (AK4529 CODEC) to get more channels.

Headphones are just 2 channel (stereo) so what's designated as front left/right is used. The other channels aren't used.

CPU usage depends on task, program, CPU speed, etc. I don't think USB itself eat up that much cpu power.

Yes, the Theater is overekill for just stereo (headphone) use.
