I'd like to buy a Go-Vibe, but it offers both the AD8066 and the OPA2227. I'll be running the amp with my iPod and Computer/Laptop + Grado SR60. Which one would be better for the job? Thanks.

The OPA2227 will be fine, you may find the AD8066 a little bright for the SR60's, you can actually get both opamps at the moment (Norm is doing a special offer including a nice mini to mini cable) you can swap them around and see what opamps you prefer, it's all down to personal taste, your own ears will let you know

well the ad8066 has better specs on paper, but that doesn't tell you much aside that in the ideal circumstance it will be "better" It's more about the circuit that it's in.

If I had the choice between the two I'd go the 8066. The 2227 will be warmer though.

Yes the 2227 will be warmer sounding, you may find it works well with the Grado's.

I've been test driving a Super Mini Moy that Drew sent me, and I originally wanted the AD8066 (well, AD8065's, actually), since they have a little more low end than the OPA227/2227. I didn't find out until after I had been using it for a couple days (and REALLY liking the sound I was hearing) that the default OPA227's were in it. I think I may actually prefer this "stock" Super Mini Moy (stock opamps and stock gain) to my Headroom Home amp.

The sound is so "right" with Grado 325's (w/ flat pads) that I don't think I want to mess with it by trying out a different opamp. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right? I guess I'm saying that the OPA227/2227 + Grado combo is a definite winner. Very rocking, with just the right amount of bass, and not too bright, so it pairs very well.

quick sidequestion about opamps, my micro amp with desktop module has burr brown 2134 opamps, is this a lower model opamp than the 2227? im looking at the 134 vs 227, higher number = better opamp?

anyways, i would definately say that my micro warmed up my beyer dt660's quite nicely and sounds amazing.
