Did you read a book before you start your DIYs?

Question from a newbie here to my fellow DIYers. Which book do you recommend for starters in DIY projects? Particularly for building headphone amps? I am interested in Morgan Jones book on building tube amps. Is it worth reading?

Go to Radio Shack and buy this inexpensive booklet...

Forrest M. Mims III's "Getting Started in Electronics."

That's the best 1st book in electronics I know. It's only 129 pages, but it does cover a lot of ground. It's a must buy for newbies!

Forget the Morgan Jones book for the moment. It's a rather difficult read.
