I ordered some Denon AH-D1000K's off Amazon.com a few days ago. They were actually sold by 6th Ave. Electronics (New Jersey) for $100 with free shipping. I thought I was getting a pretty good deal, but today I received them.

What I received are the AH-D1001's. Are these the same cans? What is difference between 1000 and 1001? I haven't been able to find too much information but I found both models on Denon USA's website and it kinda looks like the 1001's are smaller (from the not so good pictures).

So I'm hoping someone can confirm whether or not I got the right cans? I really wanted the 1000's

The 1001s are the model that replaced the 1000s last year, you got the right phones. I'm pretty sure the specs are the same.

Hmm...I have not heard about the 1001's replacing the 1000's, but I guess that could happen. I wanted the 1000's specifically because I wanted a good set of closed cans for around $100 and I've only read good things about the Denon 1000's on this forum.
