So I just got my M50s in the mail this morning and immediately started listening on my Galaxy S2 at level 14 volume (max volume is 15, I expected them to be a lot louder,). I used the PowerAmp app with default EQ presets, but then decided to add a bit of bass, and when I did, I heard a slight crackling "kkhhhh" sound so I immediately turned it down all the way.

Right now they're in my room burning in at only level 12 volume... is there any possible way to know if I've done any damage to them?

Thanks

I think your ears might get damaged first before the headphones...

No, really. Headphones are pretty tough in general. You'll have to crack up the volume beyond painful level to damage it.
