After some lurking, a couple questions and lots of reading here on head-fi, I finally ordered my gear.

I wanted a nice headset/mic for gaming on my pc, ps3 and xbox 360. Based on what I learned here I ordered:

Audio Technica AD700's
Zalman clip on mic
Astro Mixamp

Is that all I should need? I have an extra optical cable for the consoles.

Lastly, my pc has a x-fi platinum soundcard installed, do I plug the Mixamp into that guy directly? Any settings I'll need to change? It's 5.1 speaker setup now, do I change it to stereo?

Yep. Sounds like you'll have a pretty nice gaming setup. I'm pretty sure you can run it from your soundcard.
