I purchased a pair of HFI-700's about 2 years ago and loved them! Amazing sound. Anyways, after about a year ago, one of the speakers just died on me. I haven't read about this from any of the reviews, but maybe this is a long-term issue? (or just an unfortunate random issue)

I've since gone with Grado's headphones, but really miss the punch of my old Ultrasone's.

I'm looking at maybe purchasing another set of Ultrasones, but kinda scared of a repeat. Has anyone else had this experience with Ultrasone headphones? Did I just get unlucky?

Thanks for your responses.

Yes, happened to mine. It was simply a broken wire at the diode board. Pull the earpad off, take out a couple screws and see for yourself. Mine was an easy fix. I believe Ultrasone will charge $35 to fix them.
