530 dollars? wow not cheap so from that price I want to assume this dac / amp should be equal to or better than the DTR1 in sound quality, now if it works better it should need an update to the AK4490, maybe a 4497? maybe I'm asking a lot but there are several dac / amps that even carry the ak4497 at a noticeably lower price, I think I'm doing a lot of speculation, finally I must admit that it looks very beautiful aesthetically it is already a winner for me, but let's go to what else we care: sound quality will define everything

Anson claims that the H1 should be better than the DTR1, but even if it sounds equally good it would be a great achievement. About the DAC-chip, well, as always, implementation matters. Personally, I don’t care much about the chip, but I understand some await a more advanced one in a new product.

I hear the DAC chip will be the AK4497.

Anyone who has heard or own the Dethonray DTR1 Prelude, may likely agree that if Anson can turn an AKM4490 DAC to sound so good,
he can likely turn any DAC to sound as good if not better.
