Might as well buy directly from them if you want the EHP-O2Di: http://epiphany-acoustics.co.uk/products-page/dacs/ehp-o2di-desktop-headphone-amplifierdac-3/

The non "i" EHP-O2D on ebay is good if you don't think you'll ever want to use the output from the DAC to run to something else (like your Kenwood). The "i" version has a line out from the DAC. The "i" version also has the line input to bypass the DAC on the back which seems a bit more convenient to me me if you want to use that (instead of plugging in the front).

Thanks for that I will give them a read. I have seen a used pair of £600 for £180 posted.

If you can swing the money for it, the darkvoice 336se is a really good amp for it. I actually preferred it to the crack. Really makes the hd 650 sound alive, and is my current system.

Adding to your reading list another excellent comparison between the 600 and 650

 I always found researching prospective cans an enjoyable aspect of this hobby, aside from the music of course.

@rdb1
Just FYI the headphones are also available at thomann in addition to amazon -  I haven't bought from them, but they have a good reputation here. (Note that their B-stock HD600 has a 3-year warranty)

Good luck whatever and from wherever you go for.

Just a quick question off topic. I have Gale Model 4 speakers and I am missing the gold jumpers and the red and black plastic parts that hold the bi wire in place. Can these be replaced or can anyone recommend an alternative please?
