You mean recording quality? Absolutely frickin' stellar. $1,000 [the ending price] is definitely about right for this piece of kit. If any of you here have a bootleg by a jam band or any other band that has a good touring career, chances are one of your best recorded shows used this as the recording device. Google this puppy and you'll see. I wish it was mine!

I own a Sony PCM-M1 and the headphone is excellent, much cleaner sounding than any pcdp i've ever used...it's quiet neutral actually.
