i got this Denon cd player from the goodwill for cheap and it works but it will often skip about 30 secons to a minut of a song.. randomly go back to the begining. i tried using a cd lazer cleaner but that didn't help. any ideas or fixes would be much apreciated.

no good guesses...the cdp sounds really nice compared to my old sony home unit. it would be nice to get this working good.

Hiya...

I have the DCD910 - not really sure how well its related, but I can tell you that with the Denons, its definitely worth cleaning the internal rod that the laser tracks along... add a very small amount of lithium grease after cleaning any debris (or spray a very tiny amount of WD40 to help lubricate, but keep it a small amount as too much will turn it in to glue!!) and then get a full length (75min+) CD and keep track scanning from begining to end for a dozen or so times.. press play, and see what happens

Enjoy the unit
