Guys,

I'm thinking of buying D7000 with my tax refund.. but one critical thing to me is good low volume listing. Anyone having D7000 or D2000/5000 help me on this? Thanks!

at very low volume, I cannot really tell the difference...I normally listen to them at mid-high volume. ^ ^

Hey moonsurf,

I should just say I have LA2000s (based on D2000s but with a number of mods - see my review here). IMHO these are great for low volume listening but they are very low impedance designs that suck current so they need an amp capable of good current delivery to give of their best. MarkL recommends SS over tubes and although I have heard good reports from people with Woo WA2s and other tube amps with dick stick power supplies I have to agree. If your amp is up to it these cans sound superb at low volumes, I am sure this is equally true of the D7000s.

Good luck!

Thanks all, j2kei, Feather225 & struts!!
I was also eyeing on a compass to use with D7000 (possibly d5000 due to lower price). And, I'm also looking into the new Corda Swing for I have read more than occationally that Meier amps sound superb with Denons.
Thanks again!!

Forgot to mention that I have used Grace m902 and Rudistor RPX-33 MkII with the LA2000s both with excellent results. If these amps are in the price range you are looking I would definitely recommend checking them out.
