I've always been a fan of the glossy wood finish on a few of Audio-Technica's headphones. So when I picked up the D5000's I was somewhat disappointed that they came in a rather dull finish. I was mulling this fact over the other day when I realized I had some liquid compound in my detailing box....after a few hit and miss tries, I ended up with this:

I know it's not much of a change, but I enjoyed the process and I'm a bit happier with how they look now. I think it even refined the low end a bit!

I kid, I kid

That does look like a very nice improvement [dare I say upgrade...Audiophiles and their gear, sheesh

]...

Low end isn't where I would expect the improvement , but in their sparkly treble extention, perhaps

Nice~

Quiet nice. I wonder if the gloss (same compound or other) would improve the look of the D2000s also?

They look ultra expensive now! I love the expensive contemporary Italian designer furniture look! Imagine a glossy wenge woodied D5000... gosh...

Those look really good. Wonder if I could do that with my Darth's.
