Quick question. I was looking at buying the D5000s but because of the opamps I have put in my amp I have to keep it on gain 10.

So..., how do the Denons behave with high gain amps?

Gain 10 is a lot, but the Denons will not "misbehave". I also had an am even with Gain 12 here - it works, but the "active radius" of the volume knob is very small.
