Wow, they look incredible and no doubt sound incredible. Lucky you for having such a cool grandfather!

Hey Aura,
Did you make the cups in 2 pieces? I see a parting line and the grain not matching in some of the pictures or is just a visual effect?

Those look great. Man, there's a lot of sexy Denon mods going around lately. I have some fill I can send you if you need it...just shoot me a PM, and I'll get it out to you, no charge (and no shipping either).

Added a few initial impressions.

Musicman - yep, 2 pieces. It's not ideal, but I had to work with what I could find at the time. The grain is still quite close and looks better in person (as one would expect). I'm still very happy with the results.

WoWWW! You make my Proline 450 Mod look like a puny girly man next to those bad boys! I can't wait to hear them next Saturday. How long did it take you to do all that?
WoW now I got another desktop background.

Very nice indeed. What kind of finish is it? That's the one area of my stuff I've never gotten right.

I used Tung Oil to seal up the graining and give it the initial shine, then used a wax & polish kit that my grandfather uses on all of his wood intarsia pieces. There were three stages of buffing with this kit, the final one being the wax to give it the nice touch of gloss.

My grandfather took some pics of them in stages, but only as reference should we come across the opportunity to do another Denon woody.

Thanks so much for the positive comments everyone, it is much appreciated
