I'm after an amp for my D2000's. Source is a Xonar D2.

I've had a read around, but didn't really find anything conclusive. I listen to dnb, dubstep and IDM primarily, so want something that can pad out the already heavenly bass of these cans.

My budget is pretty low, say, £100 max, but would be willing to go for something second hand?

Any ideas? Thanks.

The Little Dot MK V looks like it'd do the job nicely, only it is a little expensive. Is there anything similar in a more affordable price range?

EDIT: I've also been recommended the shanling ph100 before. Would this be a strong choice?

Check out Audio-gd's offerings depending on your budget (and try to stretch it for at least for Compass):

Compass
C2C
Phoenix

I have a pair of D5000s that I amp with a Head-Direct EF1. I am a trance, house, and breaks junkie and I will say that this is the best combo I have ever heard for EDM. The EF1 is out of your budget, but you should definitely check out the newly released HiFiMAN EF2. It sells for $189 USD (~£117). There is a great review done by HeadPhoneAddict here on head-fi. One great thing about the EF2 is that it comes with a built in DAC. Seriously, check it out. This amp sounds very similar to the EF1 that I have and it is amazing for EDM. You will not be disappointed.

I think at this price point I am better off spending my money all on amp, not an amp/dac combo?

Isn't the DAC in the xonar d2 meant to be fairly decent anyway?

The Nuforce Icon Mobile has good synergy with the D2000. There are threads around here talking about that.

I use a P3 and P3+ with D2000's and it powers them with ease even on low gain. Nice thing is you can improve or customise the sound by rolling the OpAmps. I'm also into similar stuff to you........ If you could streeeeetch that budget slightly you could get a P3 for sure.

For a budget of 100GBP I would go for the Pro ject Head Box MKII, Musical Fidelity V-Can, and stretching budget a bit maybe a Cute Beyond or a Cute Curve.
