Hi, so I was wondering what you guys think of this match up.

I currently have HD280s I use for everything.

I would be using the headphones for gaming and music. I usually listen to the rap genre of music, but sometimes rock, classical and other stuff.

Ive used the A700s before so I know what they bring to the table, but what about the AH-D1001s?

What kind of bass and soundstage do they have?

Well I know for a fact that the bass is going to be heavier than the A700s... and the soundstage is going to be smaller due to them not being open.

Hmm.... for games... I'd pick the A700s for the bigger soundstage.
For rap/rock I'd pick the D1001s and for classical I'd pick the A700s; the ATs don't have as much bass impact but it is good, it just might leave you wanting more in the rap and rock departments.

Well... I guess it would help if we knew how you felt about the A700s since you listened to them before....?
