I was looking on Denon's website for the USA and I found they have a much larger list of Headphone products than they had just a few months ago, many of these new headphones have no images so far. I bought the Denon AH-D1000 last week and I'm waiting for them to arrive. But now I can't help but ask myself, am I a fool for getting the 1000's instead of waiting to see what if any differences are in the 1001's. Could someone shed some light on my situation? Does anyone know of any differences or improvements on the D1001's vs. the D1000? I just searched for the AH-D1001 on amazon but no results. Thanks for the help.

I have seen the at my local Fry's and they look the same as the AH-D1000.(Packaging and everything) It may be the model number they gave it for the US edition.

I'm in the same boat as you; just bought the D1000s and was wondering about the differences. Well, comparing the two pdfs on their site (D1001 pdf was added a few days ago):
D1000
D1001

According to the specs, they are identical. The difference is that the D1001 comes packaged with a carrying pouch.
