I get awful distortion playing my HDCD's.. Just happened all of a sudden.. Would a quick cleaning be a good easy start? It's 6 yrs old.. Sure to be dusty.. Or would it require a new laser? If so, how would I know? & what would the cost be?.. Plays CD & CD R just fine.. I have a terrible feeling it will only play SACD using 5 analog out, as I can't get my SACD to play in two mode..Unless I need to set it to 2 channel? Any more tips?

Take it into your local audio repair shop, they can take a look at it and give you a quote. If it just needs a cleaning, it shouldn't be very expensive. A new laser will be pricey though, if you can even still get parts.
