What "amp"?

I run balanced XLR from my Pontus 12th-1 DAC to Denafrips headphone amp via XLR cables and have zero balance issues.

That actually sounds like a cable issue. Have you tried a different set of cables?
Yes I've tried 3 sets of cables, 2 from the same manufacturer to rule out manufacturing defects, but results are the same. One channel is always sounding richer and lively compared to the other.

My amp only takes XLR from the DAC. Do I have any other options ? Some other member had a similar issue outlined in one of the earlier posts on this thread.

Anyone experiencing reduced sound output on one side when using pontus 2 xlr to amp ? I'm having this "channel imbalance" effect on either one side. I switched multiple xlr cables but the issue persists. Any solutions ? Please help me since I'm out of options at the moment.
I had this, it was bad xlr cables going to the amp. (Wireworld) changed to chord cables, it didn’t happen. Then changed to Alvin’s xlr’s Gotham cables. No issue.

Your current xlr cable ?
Do you hear equally on both channels ?
Any dynamic/Volume imbalance ?

Updated to 1,4 today. It was a bigger difference than I was expecting. It’s more resolution and larger sounding now. Really great.

Gotham from Alvin’s sister company-site.

Try to carefully move the xlr in Pontus and see if it changes anything. Here the sound gad imbalance and did cut on one side when moving it carefully, also try pulling it out a tiny bit to see if it changes anything. Here the sound lost the imbalance when I pulled the xlr out a bit. But now with new cables it’s no issue any more.

OK I will try it. Any alternatives to Alvin's? Please suggest
I would recommend chord company. Great quality and not eye watering prices.

Then this makes no sense....
switching cables between left and right XLR port just switches the imbalance to the other side.
If one channel is faulty, and you swap cables only for the other side to have the same issues, says the cable is at fault.

Yes you had mentioned your DDC to DAC connection, but my issue is directly from Amp to DAC.
Please read my post again, and I never mentioned a DDC. I said Pontus DAC, and Denafrips headphone amp. There are no XLR cables coming from my DDC.

Oh, and don't buy into the hype that certain XLR cables have issues while others don't. That's just sales pitch. Yeah, cables make a difference in sound quality, but an electrical connection is an electrical connection no matter the cable brand.

And for the record - I don't use Gothem's (Alvin's recommendation), and I have zero issues. I use Worlds Best, and Better Cables. Zero issues.

Burson Audio 3XR (Amp+DAC), but the XLR input bypasses the internal DAC
With that, have you checked the Burson Soloist isn't causing the issue?

Let us know.

Did you suddenly have this problem with this setup and was working fine previously? Or did something changed in your setup recently?
