Materials for XLR custom cables arrived today…

Left Mogami W2534 Neglex Quad Cable, right Mogami W2549 Cable. Neutrik black/gold and Nickel/Silver 3-pin connectors. Two tone snake colored braided sleeving.
Will be making my first sets of XLR cables later this week. Can't build and hear them.
Until then....
Very nice! Let us know how it goes and the audible difference you hear. What interconnect cables are you using now?
And here's one set made using the Mogami W2534 Neglex Quad Cable, snake sleeving and silver Neutrik connectors. Cable length is 1.5 feet since I wanted shorter cables for my stacked gear.
This Mogami W2534 Neglex Quad wire is impressive with the Neutrik nickel plated connector with silver plated pins and was exactly what I was searching for in an XLR cable - a balanced cable with great bass, imaging, mids, detail, and vocals. At this point, the hunt for XLR cables is over.
While
Worlds Best Canare L-4E6S cables have great staging, and clarity, they didn't quite hit hard and deep in the bass regions. The imaging is also a step above and sounds as though the imaging height and front / back is improved.
I also used
Better Cables Flagship Blue Truth ULTRA Audiophile Balanced XLR Cables, which run $220 a pair @ 1.58 foot. They have excellent upper range and detail retrieval, though can get a little sibilant with some phones, example my HEKSE, due to their (HEKSE) sharp edges. Not so much with the Sennheiser HD800 S though as the edge notes are more rounded, and not so sharp as the HEKs. No sibilance with the Mogami wires, though the Mogami's aren't as hot (bright / sibilant) as the Blue Truths, so you don't get that "to the nth detail" the Blue Truths can bring, but as I said, they can also be too bright.
Not so with the Mogami wires. What you get is a slightly warm, but highly detailed cable with excellent imaging, and outstanding bass extension.
Keep in mind this is what I'm getting out of "my" system with these cables as configured. YMMV.
