Moderator, please ... That's been the only way at least since I've been here - lurking, beginning in 2005.

It's not limited to Head-Fi. I've not seen many, if any, forums online that allow indiscriminate user post and thread deletion.

Some people edit their thread title to just say something like "delete" and then do the same with their post. I'm not one much for deleting or heavy editing, so I'd probably just make a post informing others that you no longer need/want their replies.
