i see you can get a Muvo2 with no drive inside for $30-50 on eBay.. and 512mb CompactFlash flash-memory card for $100 (Newegg.com, for instance) or a 1gb card $200... which is just about exactley half the retail price on the Muvo2 sport models (X-Trainers)

retail
MSRP $270 for 512mb flash Muvo2
MSRP $500 of 1gb flash Muvo2

Rebuilt Muvo2...
512mb ~140
1gb ~$250

seems like the best deal on a flash player, just build it yourself and you can even upgrade later.

Where can we get *******ed 4GB Muvo2s, though? Some of us want to use them as audio players.

Is there a definative guide for inserting a new CF into a eviscerated MuVo2?

I am tempted due to the price, but am too afraid I might be flushing money down the toilet if it won't work.

How's that saying go... "Assembly is the opposite of disassembly", or something like that. Inserting the new card should be pretty straightforward.

My only question is formatting the card for use in the MuVo. Is that something that has to be done while the card is outside of the MuVo? Or can it be done after installation via some utility built into the player? Or is it a non-issue, as any CompactFlash card formatted for use on a PC will work fine as-is in the MuVo?

Now that's a good question, one that I think we need an answer to......
