I'm planning ahead for an active speaker setup. I'm using the Squeezebox to a Stello DA100 DAC as source, and will probably get a pair of Mackie HR624 speakers.
I'm not even sure if I need an passive or active preamp. I'm looking for something around GBP 150. Size will be a factor as it is a desktop system. So far I've considered the Project Pre Box and the Nuforce Icon (a bit of a waste as I will be only using the preamp). I would appreciate some help on this. Thanks!
