Has anyone tried to build a DIY version of the Decware MLB amp "my little buddy"? I'm curious how it would sound compared to the MJ OTL diy amp. Mostly I'd love to know if transformer output is better than huge electrolytics (bypassed). This is what I have now and frankly I'm not overly impressed. I use 450uF total per channel but I can't help think the sound suffers. It's OK, but not stunning.

I'm looking at modifying the MJ(6n1p version) to a MLB output using Edcor transformers,
http://edcorusa.com/products/transfo...sm10k-150.html. Decware supplies a detailed schematic for this amp on their site, http://www.decware.com/newsite/mainmenu.htm.

Has anyone used the Edcors for headphones with good/great results?? Am I off base thinking that even a cheap tranny would sound better than electrolytics?

TIA
