Deck CD-Player vs. Computer as Source

I am curious about this. Does a good deck CD-Player provide better SQ than a computer. I am putting together an HTPC. The plan was to go with an Emu 1212 and could be using either FLAC, or playing directly off the CD there. Would I be better off with that, vs a normal CD player?
