My old earbuds' wire is exposed where it connects to the jack, and I'm looking for a good replacement pair. Probably anything will be an improvement; the old ones came with a cheap mp3 player a few years ago, but they were pretty comfortable.

I'd prefer canalphones or whatever you call the ones that block outside noise, but in the end I don't really care as long as they work well and will hold up to a couple years' use.

PS. Just to get this one out of the way, I am a proud owner of an 8gig Zen and rip my music to 320Kbps MP3, I know good earphones won't make up for a sucky source.

PPS. If it makes a difference I mostly listen to rock and metal. The styles of Disciple, Project 86, Demon Hunter, and Thousand Foot Krutch pretty well encompass my music.
