I have the 1st three Satyricon cds and they are very worthy:
-dark medievil times
-shadowthrone
-nemesis divina

Did not even consider Volcano since "rebel" CD was not well received from what I have read.

Heh, ironically, here in norway, the last album is the one that has gotten the best "reviews"... :p Oh well. I think it's their best so far. IMHO

If this is watered down, I may still like it. Sometimes I need the pace a bit slower.


How is the production value? I have not listened to Satyricon. I take it that their early albums are black metal. Are they simple or complex?

Watered down, ok. But not any more than Dimmu Borgir, in example...
