Okay, so I just had a not-so-cheap Telefunken leave me for that great amp in the sky. I'm just not sure why.
I purchased the tube used, but both triodes tested a bit above nominal new, and was good all around the board. Well, I didn't test the tube personally, these were the results that I was relying on from the seller, whom I have every reason to trust. The tube worked wonderfully when I received it. I took it out after maybe around 30-40 hours personally put on it.
So today, finally have a pair of power tubes that I wanted to match it with, I throw it back in and power up my amp. When I sat down to do some listening I noticed something strange. One side was not lit up at all. I'm thinking, not too good, right then. I power down and replace the tube and everything seemed to be functioning properly.
I'm just a bit confused as to what happened, and if powering up this tube with only one triode functioning might have caused any damage.
I need a cigar and glass of wine...
