[full text in portable] Network support declared my ER-6 dead. Beyond visual inspection, are there diagnostic steps?
Dead Etymotic ER-6. Any diagnostic tests?

when i had to repair some inherited ER4s, I took a ohmmeter (to test continuity) and i just carefully cut off the barrel and removed the drivers so that the pins were visible.
Then I tested each connection. Jack to barrel, barrel to driver pin. (x2 for left and right). Remember to check ground pins too.
This will tell you roughly where the point(s) of failure is. Then you can go in and patch it together with solder or whatnot.
