I apologize in advance for posting again if someone else has already put this up--my quick search didn't give me any promising-looking hits.

dCS, auteurs of some of the best-reviewed megabuck DACs in the world, plus associated digital hi-fi equipment, published a 54-page "Guide to Computer Audio" on their website last month:

While there is no out-of-the-ordinary wisdom here, they make up for what they lack in earth-shattering depth with breadth of information on audio from music servers.  It essentially becomes a really good, clearly-written beginner's guide to computer audio, including recommendations for basic configurations of computer-based audiophile systems.  And if you're not a newbie to things like bitdepth or RAID data storage, it can't hurt to brush up on the basics.

Plus, it just makes me feel that much closer to owning my own $100K computer-based audiophile system
