I think you hit the nail on the head. If that's the single, I hate to think what the rest of the album is like.

I guess at least he isn't doing standards like Rod Stewart...

Tony Visconti (DB's long-time producer) said that this single was not indicative of the rest of the album; most of it is fairly rock n' roll.

I just think it's incredible that Bowie is doing anything. And the fact that he kept it a secret for nearly 2 years is just amazing in this day and age. Rock on, Mr. Jones.

We shall see very soon. Yes, I'm glad he's making an attempt, but that single, or the choice of making that the single, doesn't seem to be a positive sign at this point.

There are a slew of old guys putting out bad records, and then there are a few that still seem to be on top of their game. I'd cite Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits as two old guys who recently put out excellent records. I hope Bowie is able to do the same, but the fact that that song even made it out of the studio is not a good sign.

That video is dreadful too.

I really like David Bowie as a person and I confess I might be influenced by that, however I think this is a very strong song and the video is very strong as well.

The song is built around a clear and rather good idea which I like and it has a memorable tune.

The video is also very memorable, those odd little characters with the heads of Bowie and the woman are a very strong image.

Well, that was bland. Snooze.
