Hi,

I'm looking for a cheap amp which will go well with the DT990 pro's for use with a ASUS Xonar DX2 sound card - I've heard good things about the Darkvoice Figaro, but I'm just wondering if there are any other amps around this price range which will suit it better? I can spend around the £150 mark

I'm new to all this so sorry for being a noobie

Amazon.co.uk: Beyerdynamic DT990 PRO Headset: Electronics & Photo

That's the model of the headphones. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful!

The figaro wouldn't be a bad idea if you can't mod. People have said that it is very much like the rest of the Darkvoice series in a smaller shape. Otherwise look at upgrading to the 336SE or 336i if you can afford it. They are both still being made.

The FIGARO is a little cracker, and the DT990s with their high impedance would be prefect. As noted above, the FIGARO's sound is typical DARKVOICE: ie very powerful and dynamic, open and precise, with a touch of tube warmth.
