Hi

Just joined the site as I've just developed a problem with my Darkvoice 336i.
Its been in the loft of the house for 3 months or so and I've just taken it down tonight and hooked it up to hifi and there is no real output volume.
I have to turn the darvoice volume control upto max to even hear the music thru phones (Grado SR-325) even then its a muffled low output.
I'm using it with Naim gear which previously had all worked fantastically well.

Anyone have any ideas what may be causing it?
Could it be related to a tube or is more likely internal to amp?

Thanks Alan...

...my first reaction would be to check the tubes, especially if its been sitting in a damp area, or other place where temp and humidity often fluctuate. The fact that you get some output through the headphone jack, seems to indicate its not a fuse.

Tried replacing the tubes but the problem remains. Hear a faint signal through my phones at maximum volume on the amp.

Anyone got any further ideas - anyone know of any competent electrical eng who could help out up North in Scotland.

Thanks

what you're describing sounds exactly what i went through about a month ago. i changed the tubes tried different power outlets but still got that low volume, muffled sound like how you described. it was only after i swapped dacs did i discover that my dac was actually what died instead of my amp. so like how others suggested, i'd check your source to pinpoint where the problem is.
