looking for an affordable tube amp that pairs well with AKG K701s.. have seen these 2 as popular choices.. anyone care to comment?

btw the source is my X-fi coax going through the Zero DAC

Look for transformer coupled output tube amp for use with low-impedance phones. For example-some of Woo Audio amps.

While this is sound advice, I must say that my 336SE drives my RS1's effortlessly with no hum/noise issues at all. Others have also found the K701 paired with a 336i quite a satisfying combination. I can't speak for the Little Dot amps, but there should be a wealth of good information on both amps.

Millet hybrid, Millet hybrid max, and Bada PH-12 were excellent with my K701s as well.

Ahm, this guy is asking for DV or Little Dot mkIII... I am also interested in the K701 + Little Dot MkIII combo - anyone any infos? Thanks!
