Hi all

Ive been saving for a Heed Canamp to power my K701s. Had a Creek OBH21-SE originally but that did not do much more for my cans than the headphone amp on my EMU1820M soundcard.

Now Ijust came across this 336i for sale with mods:

and wondered how that would compare to a Heed Canamp?

Bear in mind that while I use my set up for enjoying music, it is first and foremost for use in my studio - mixing, mastering, etc.

Or looking at things from a different angle, should I scrap both the 336i and Canamp in favour of a Lavry DA10? I know these have an excellent rep as a converter, but what is the headphone amp on the unit like?

Cheers

Max

I was using a 336i with my K701 for a while, and it was an excellent match IMO. I have limited experience with amps, but it seemed to bring out everything that I wanted in the K701 - A can that I think outruns the HD600/650 by a considerable margin in detail when you have it amped right. IMO of course.
