Dark Violin Music

i like violins, not as much as i like guitar sound, but nonetheless i do like it; especially darker ( to go w/ the dark sennheisers

Some Bartok chamber music for solo or two violins is a bit dark........

Yes! Great score here, amazing execution. Plus the movie is cool too! Highly recommended and is quite dark.

Parts of the Shostakovich concerto get nice and dark.

Prokofiev and perhaps Stravinsky should fit the bill, too. Vengerov has a recording with both the first violin concertos by Shostakovich and Prokofiev. A second CD has the second VCs by these composers. There's also a good recording of Heifeitz playing Sibelius and Prokofiev VC 2.
