It means they're out but still have orders to fill I think.

So its not an auction?

By the way does the iriver iHP-140 have anything on the iriver PMP-140? The later has a detachible battery which is priceless since you can carry one or a few on you. Bigger screen as well. Slightly thiner I think. Any reason why you would want iHP-140 over PMP-140?

PMP is a portable media center, meaning among other things, it will play videos. H140 can not play videos -- strictly a audio device. You may be confusing the H1xx series with the H3xx series. I thought I read somewhere that the H3xx can play videos in addition to displaying photos.

No those are the two I means. Yes that was my understanding one is a audio player and the other is a media player. My question is mainly is the PMP-140 like the iHP-140 but can do much more? Basically is there any reason to get the iHP-140 over the PMP-140? Is there anything the iHP-140 has or can do that the PMP-140 doesnt or cant do or cant do as well?

Yes, read the thread title.

The form factor is probably the biggest difference. The PMP is a much bigger device whereas the H1xx is easily portable.

The battery life may favor the H1xx as well, but I'm just guessing. With the display off and playing only audio, the PMP may deliver long battery life.

You should also check rockbox.org and see what other features you can get with a rockboxed H1xx. For one, gapless seems to be very important to many people and the PMP may not have that.
