Hi, I'm looking for a portable music player. I don't care about usb dac functionality, sound only. It will be used with headphones, not IEMs. I prefer natural, detailed sound with great soundstage and smooth, beautiful mids and some kick for rock/metal music.
For now, I'll be using it with SennGrado, so a mids-focused sound with good bass and smooth highs, easy to drive but they like more power.
Shozy Alien is not too good with headphones, I guess. It's meant for IEMs.
X5 is the most expensive player, but with a very good SQ. So is the DX50.
Aune M1 and AP100 could possibly be better than X5 or DX50, but I can't listen to them before purchase.
What would you recommend? I'll buy some other, closed headphones later.
