dap with equal or better sound to chord mojo

I once had a Chord Mojo like yourself but sold it and picked up a DAP because the stack was cumbersome to use.

I know i'm the minority here but don't pay too much attention to the sound of DAPs. All modern DAPs aren't too far from each other soundwise. As long as its got enough juice to power whatever cans or set of IEMs you're using, you should be fine.

I would much rather focus on design/function. E.g., what output it has (2.5/3.5/4.4), OS it uses (Android ver., proprietary, etc.), Processor speed, screen size, storage, battery life, ergonomics, wifi, ease of use, BT, MQA, etc. etc. Whether you need Android to access streaming services like Tidal/Qobuz/Spotify should be your first question. I've owned LPGT, AK SP1000, CAYIN N6II, HIBY R6 pro, Chord Mojo personally and have heard/borrowed many others. None are night and day difference. Don't pay too much attention to reviews on here. Sound is subjective at best. And It's all personal opinion plus bias. Just like what I'm telling you right now are just my opinion.

For me, N6II worked the best. It's versatile with good features. Hiby R6 Pro had similar specs/features but I had lots of connection problems with the weak wifi. If Spotify is your main concern, I would steer away from Hiby unless that specific problem have been addressed (YMMV). N6II was the only one I kept when I switched over to full size cans with desktop setup. Hope that helps.
