I'm looking for a portable player where it can drive a Sennheiser HD 800 S and sound good without any other extra DAC/AMPs. I want to connect it directly to HD 800 S with balanced cables.

I have seen a good black friday deal for Sony NW-WM1A. Also considering FiiO X7 Mark II.

I have heard that Sony NW-WM1A might be better. I'm more equipped for 2.5 mm balanced with my adapters and if I go the Sony route, it will be a little more hassle. Also I read that Sony does not have a standard USB connector. Is Sony NW-WM1A really that much better? FiiO would be hassle free for me with its USB connector and 2.5 mm output.

Again, I need it to work with HD800S with no need for an extra amp.

This really doesn't help. This Lotoo stuff is an obscure stuff that I can't find anywhere in my region.

My question is about Sony NW-WM1A, which I have a specific Black Friday deal on it which expires in few days and if I want to act, I have few days.
So question concerns Sony NW-WM1A and FiiO X7 Mark II that I can buy.

You won't get ideal performance out of the 800S with either DAP. Why not consider a small portable amp such as the Mass Kobo 424 (Jaben HK will happily ship you one, next day shipping, to most of the world) or Chord Mojo?

I have FiiO Q5 and Chord Mojo (and many more amps) but I wanted a simpler one device solution. If I have to use a DAC, I will use my iphone as a player + DAC and no need for an expensive DAP.
Just wanted to use a single player. FiiO Q5 and FiiO X7 MII use the same amp module AM3A. Why it can't drive it if a balanced cable is used? And I suppose Sony should be able to drive it with a balanced cable.
