First a question, does the D2 (and other Cowon stuff) do id3? Also, what kind of file system does it use? Can you sort via various fields (again id3)?

Yes. Currently, the ID3 on MP3's are perfect. FLAC, not so much. But it's probably because I'm using a beta firmware. And supposedly they come out with firmwares to fix things really quickly.
