Hi folks, I’m in the market for DAP: under £350 (or $350 dollars)
that will power some Beyerdynamic DT700 Pro X headphones
stream Tidal
either runs usb audio player pro or has a system wide parametric eq
will stream via bluetooth
and…isn’t painfully slow.

I had high hopes for the new Sony device but the bass issue has put me off.

Are there any reasonable alternatives or am I being unrealistic in my expectations?

I'm not sure how DAPs do these days, but you have some options for sure. iBasso DX170 and HiNy R6 III are roughly in your price range and Activo by Astell&Kern is even more affordable: https://www.activostyle.com/product

I don't know how any of these DAPs performs, so I encourage you to visit their threads and someone should be able to help you out there. Good luck :)

I'm just curious ... do keyboards in the UK have a "£" symbol on their keyboard, or do you have to look it up and paste it as a special character each time?

One can always press and hold Alt + 0163 or Alt + 156 on the numeric keypad

I guess you have that memorized. I've already forgotten it and would need a Post-It on my monitor.
