NO I dont want to buy them for parts!!!

A friend of mine is selling a set of these speakers for $50............. reason being the front left and right channels on the amp are blown. Now the thing is I dont want 5.1, and if the system is used as direct 6 channel output on the controller it can be used as a 2.1 system. All I have to do is turn the surround channel almost all the way up and try to balance the sound that way.

So the question is: Is it worth it? or should I just let the system curl up and die somewhere else?

As for why I am considering them is that I want a system that can give me relatively the full spectrum of sound for as little dosh as possible for rough mixing. Sounds strange, but true. This has presented itself, and I am wondering whether to jump at it or not.

The Z680s dont even have tweeters, just so you know.

Second, just let them die. There are better non 5.1 alternatives for those who don't need surround.
